N95 Vs P100

N95 Vs P100 Which one is better?

First we must discuss the difference between the N95 and P100. NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) designation of N95 means that the respirator is non-oil resistant and it filters 95% of particulates.  The P100 is defined as oil-proof and filters 99.97% of particulates.  So, which one is better, N95 vs. P100, is more dependent on the protection needed.  Typically, most jobs require the N95 protection.

The N95 is usually in reference to disposable respirators.  There are P100 disposable respirators, but the cost is significantly higher.  The P100 filters are mostly considered Respirator Cartridges used with Half Mask Respirators or Full Face Mask Respirators.
